The history of Jaguar competition has been told in countless books.
But in what was then British Malaya, the Jaguar was immortalized when an alloy bodied XK120 set a record from Mitchell Pier, Butterworth to Clifford Pier, Singapore, on 7th June 1955 that has never been broken. The event made the front-page in the Straits Times. I would have the honor to be in the presence of three of the people behind that record run: the man behind the idea, the driver who undertook the challenge, and the person who succeeded in purchasing the car eventually.
